Here I Am to Worship

Light of the world, You stepped out into darkness; opened my eyes, let me see. Beauty that made this heart adore You, hope of a life spent with You.

Chorus: Here I am to worship; here I am to bow down; here I am to say that You’re my God. You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days, oh, so highly exalted; glorious in heaven above. Humbly You came to the earth You created, all for love’s sake became poor. Chorus

And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

One True God

One voice in the dark; a song that lights up the stars; one breath that gives life. One, sov’reign in pow'r, Who speaks with thunder and fire; one Lord, one King. There is no other that can compare to You.

Chorus: You are the One alone in greatness, the One Who never changes. Jesus, You are the One Who rose in power, the One who reigns forever. Jesus, (You’re) the one true God.

(You’re the one true God.)

One man on a cross; one light of the world; one name, one word. One way to be saved; one Lamb that was slain; one love above all. There is no other that can compare to You.

Bridge: And we have seen the glory of the one and only Son of God. Yes, we have seen the glory of the one and only Son of God.

Words and music by Steven Curtis Chapman, Matt Redman, and Chris Tomlin; 2015, S. D. G. Publishing, Said And Done Music, sixsteps Music, Thankyou Music, Worship Together Music, worshiptogether.com songs, Be Essential Songs, and Who You Say Music; CCLI License # 387777

In Christ Alone / The Solid Rock

In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; this Cornerstone, this solid ground; firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease; my Comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless Babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then, bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory sin’s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the pow’r of Christ in me. From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. ’Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand! Chorus

Words and music by Stuart Townend and Keith Getty; 2001, Thankyou Music; Chorus (words and music by Edward Mote, William B. Bradbury, Charlie Hall, Trent Austin, and Kendall Combs; 2004, worshiptogether.com songs and sixsteps Music); CCLI License # 387777

Corporate Confession of Sin    Pastor Jeff Elliott

Our gracious Father, You sent Your Son to die and rise to new life in order that death might be brought to an end and that we too might live a new life. Yet, in our thoughts, words and deeds we have rebelled against You and Your intentions for us. In so doing, we have broken our fellowship with You Whose love is better than life and Whom to know is life itself. In so doing, we have hurt others, sometimes unintentionally and sometimes deliberately, and have diminished their lives, particularly by not pointing them to the life found in Your Son. Father, forgive us our sin for Jesus’ sake. And grant that Your resurrection power might fill our beings so that we walk in the ways of love and justice to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (Hymn No. 252) (During Communion)

It Is Well with My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, “It is well, it is well with my soul.”

Chorus: It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blessed assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed His own blood for my soul. Chorus

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Chorus

O Lord haste the day when the faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul. Chorus

Choir Introit - Christ Is Risen! Allelujah!

Christ Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed!

How can it be? The One who died has borne our sin through sacrifice, to conquer every sting of death; sing, sing hallelujah!

For joy awakes as dawning light when Christ’s disciples lift their eyes; alive He stands, their Friend and King; Christ, Christ, He is risen.

Chorus: Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing hallelujah. Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed. Christ is risen, He is risen indeed!

Where doubt and darkness once had been, they saw Him and their hearts believed; but blessed are those who have not seen, yet sing hallelujah.

Once bound by fear, now bold in faith, they preached the truth and power of grace; and pouring out their lives they gained life, life everlasting. Chorus

The power that raised Him from the grave now works in us to powerfully save; He frees our hearts to live His grace; go tell of His goodness. Chorus

He’s alive! (He’s alive!) He’s alive! (He’s alive!) Heaven’s gates are opened wide! He’s alive! (He’s alive!) He’s alive! (He’s alive!) Now in heaven glorified! Words and music by Ed Cash, Keith Getty, and Kristyn Getty; 2012, Gettymusic and Alletrop Music; CCLI License # 387777

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

Christ Is Risen

Let no one caught in sin remain inside the lie of inward shame, but fix our eyes upon the cross, and run to Him Who showed great love and bled for us; freely You've bled for us.

Chorus: Christ is risen from the dead, trampling over death by death; come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave. Christ is risen from the dead; we are one with Him again; come awake, come awake, come and rise up from the grave.

Beneath the weight of all our sin, You bowed to none but Heaven's will; no scheme of hell, no scoffer's crown, no burden great can hold You down. In strength You reign; forever let Your Church proclaim. Chorus

Bridge: O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory? O Church, come stand in the light; the glory of God has defeated the night. Singing: O death, where is your sting? O hell, where is your victory? O Church, come stand in the light; our God is not dead; He’s alive, He’s alive! Chorus

O Lord, My Rock and My Redeemer

O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, greatest treasure of my longing soul, my God, like You, there is no other. True delight is found in You alone. Your grace, a well too deep to fathom, Your love exceeds the heavens’ reach; Your truth, a fount of perfect wisdom, my highest good, and my unending need.

O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, strong defender of my weary heart, my sword to fight the cruel deceiver and my shield against his hateful darts, my song when enemies surround me, my hope when tides of sorrow rise, my joy when trials are abounding, Your faithfulness, my refuge in the night.

O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, gracious Savior of my ruined life, my guilt and cross laid on Your shoulders, in my place You suffered, bled, and died. You rose, the grave and death are conquered, You broke my bonds of sin and shame. O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer, may all my days bring glory to Your name. Corporate Confession of Sin - Pastor Tim Dryden

Father, we confess that we often do not live as if we were raised to new life as we have been through the resurrection of Your Son, living in the certain knowledge of Your great mercy and love. Distracted by the world around us, we fail to hear Your voice, or hide as we wander off the path. Forgive us, we pray; restore the love that we first had, a faith that endures. Keep our eyes fixed on You, Lord, and with You at our right hand we shall not be shaken. We ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

All Glory, Laud, and Honor (Hymn No. 235)

All glory laud and honor to Thee, Redeemer, King, to Whom the lips of children make sweet hosannas ring! Thou art the King of Israel, Thou David’s royal Son, Who in the Lord’s name comest, the King and blessed One!

The people of the Hebrews with palms before Thee went; our praise and prayer and anthems before Thee we present: to Thee, before Thy passion, they sang their hymns of praise; to Thee, now high exalted, our melody we raise.

Thou didst accept their praises; accept the prayers we bring, Who in all good delightest, Thou good and gracious King! Hallelujah! What a Savior! (Hymn No. 246)

“Man of Sorrows!” what a name for the Son of God, who came ruined sinners to reclaim! Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude, in my place condemned He stood, sealed my pardon with His blood: Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Guilty, vile and helpless we, spotless Lamb of God was He; full atonement! Can it be? Hallelujah, what a Savior!

Lifted up was He to die, “It is finished,” was His cry; now in heav’n exalted high: Hallelujah, what a Savior!

When He comes, our glorious King, all His ransomed home to bring, then anew this song we’ll sing: Hallelujah, what a Savior!  Words and music by Philip P. Bliss; words and music are public domain; CCLI License #387777

Corporate Confession of Sin           Kurt Nelson, Ruling Elder

Almighty and most merciful Father, we have erred and strayed from Your ways like lost sheep. We have followed too much the devices and desires of our own hearts. We have offended against Your holy laws. We have left undone those things which we ought to have done; and we have done those things which we ought not to have done; and there is no health in us. O Lord, have mercy upon us, miserable offenders. Spare those, O God, who confess their faults. Restore those who are penitent; according to Your promises declared unto mankind in Christ Jesus our Lord. Grant that we may hereafter live a godly, righteous, and sober life; to the glory of His holy name. Amen.

Gethsemane Hymn (During Communion)

Christ Exalted Is Our Song

Christ exalted is our song, our anthem through eternity. Praises rise and wake the dawn, heralding His majesty. Christ without a rival reigns over all creation. Name above all other names, enthroned in adoration.

Christ exalted is our song, the Sovereign over everything. Left His glorious throne beyond, stepped into our suffering. The hands that shaped the heaven’s frame reached to heal the leper. Mighty God in meekness came to lead us like a Shepherd.

Christ exalted is our song, the Man of Sorrows mocked and tried. Bore the judgment for our wrongs, for our sins was crucified. Hear the love in His refrain, “Father, please forgive them.” As He bears the bitter weight of guilt and condemnation.

Christ exalted is our song, buried but in vict’ry raised. The keys of death and life belong to the Firstborn from the grave. Glory, glory to the King! Crowned with countless praises. Prelude

Someday

All I Have Is Christ

I once was lost in darkest night, yet thought I knew the way; the sin that promised joy and life had led me to the grave. I had no hope that You would own a rebel to Your will, and if You had not loved me first I would refuse You still.

But as I ran my hell-bound race, indifferent to the cost, You looked upon my helpless state and led me to the cross. And I beheld God’s love displayed, You suffered in my place; You bore the wrath reserved for me; now all I know is grace!

Chorus: Hallelujah! All I have is Christ! Hallelujah! Jesus is my life!

Now, Lord, I would be Yours alone and live so all might see the strength to follow Your commands could never come from me. O Father, use my ransomed life in any way You choose, and let my song forever be: my only boast is You. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

This Is Amazing Grace

Who breaks the power of sin and darkness? Whose love is mighty and so much stronger? The King of Glory; the King above all kings.

Who shakes the whole earth with holy thunder? Who leaves us breathless in awe and wonder? The King of Glory; the King above all kings.

Chorus: This is amazing grace, this is unfailing love; that You would take my place, that You would bear my cross. You would lay down Your life that I would be set free. Jesus, I sing for all that You’ve done for me.

Who brings our chaos back into order? Who makes the orphan a son and daughter? The King of Glory; the King of Glory.

Who rules the nations with truth and justice; shines like the sun in all of its brilliance? The King of Glory; the King above all kings. Chorus

Bridge: Worthy is the Lamb who was slain, and worthy is the King who conquered the grave. (3X)

You Are My King (Amazing Love)

I’m forgiven, because You were forsaken. I’m accepted; You were condemned. I’m alive and well, Your Spirit is within me, because You died and rose again.

Chorus: Amazing love, how can it be that You, my King, would die for me? Amazing love, I know it’s true; and it’s my joy to honor You. In all I do, I honor You.

You are my King, You are my King. Jesus, You are my King. Jesus, You are my King. Chorus

Corporate Confession of Sin

Eric DeGroff, Ruling Elder

Gracious Lord, we confess we have dishonored You in our words, thoughts, and deeds. Depending on our strength, we have stumbled. Trusting in our goodness, we have become prideful. Confident in our plans for our lives, we have failed to seek Your will. We pray now, Lord, for You to forgive all of our many sins; to cleanse the darkness from our lives, and to turn our faces and hearts back towards You. We pray these things in the name of Your most precious Son, Jesus Christ. Amen.

Come, Thou Fount of Every Blessing (Hymn No. 457)

Come, Thou fount of ev’ry blessing, tune my heart to sing Thy grace; streams of mercy, never ceasing, call for songs of loudest praise. Teach me some melodious sonnet, sung by flaming tongues above; praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it, mount of Thy redeeming love.

Here I raise mine Ebenezer; hither by Thy help I’m come; and I hope, by Thy good pleasure, safely to arrive at home. Jesus sought me when a stranger, wand’ring from the fold of God: He, to rescue me from danger, interposed His precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor daily I’m constrained to be! Let Thy grace, Lord, like a fetter, bind my wand’ring heart to Thee. Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it, prone to leave the God I love; here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it, seal it for Thy courts above.

Rejoice

Come and stand before your Maker full of wonder, full of fear; come, behold His power and glory yet with confidence draw near, for the One who holds the heavens and commands the stars above is the God who bends to bless us with an unrelenting love.

Chorus: Rejoice! Come and lift your hands and raise your voice; He is worthy of all praise. Rejoice! Sing the mercies of your King and with trembling rejoice.

We are children of the promise, the beloved of the Lord. Won with everlasting kindness, bought with sacrificial blood. Bringing reconciliation to a world that longs to know the affections of a Father who will never let them go.

All our sickness, all our sorrows Jesus carried up the hill. He has walked this path before us, He is walking with us still; turning tragedy to triumph, turning agony to praise, there is blessing in the battle so take heart and stand amazed.

Rejoice! When you cry to Him, He hears your voice; He will wipe away your tears. Rejoice! In the midst of suffering He will help you sing.

The Love of God

The love of God is greater far than tongue or pen can ever tell; it goes beyond the highest star, and reaches to the lowest hell; the guilty pair, bowed down with care, God gave His Son to win; His erring child He reconciled, and pardoned from his sin.

Chorus: O love of God, how rich and pure! How measureless and strong! It shall forevermore endure the saints’ and angels’ song!

When years of time shall pass away and earthly thrones and kingdoms fall, when men, who here refuse to pray, on rocks and hills and mountains call, God’s love so sure shall still endure, all measureless and strong; redeeming grace to Adam’s race the saints’ and angels’ song. Chorus

Could we with ink the ocean fill and were the skies of parchment made, were every stalk on earth a quill and every man a scribe by trade, to write the love of God above would drain the ocean dry; nor could the scroll contain the whole, though stretched from sky to sky.

I Will Wait for You (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths I cry to You, in darkest places I will call. Incline Your ear to me anew, and hear my cry for mercy, Lord.

Were You to count my sinful ways, how could I come before Your throne? Yet full forgiveness meets my gaze, I stand redeemed by grace alone.

Chorus: I will wait for You, I will wait for You, on Your word I will rely. I will wait for You, surely wait for You, till my soul is satisfied.

So, put Your hope in God alone, take courage in His power to save, completely and forever won by Christ emerging from the grave.

His steadfast love has made a way, and God Himself has paid the price, that all who trust in Him today find healing in His sacrifice. Chorus

I will wait for You, I will wait for You, through the storm and through the night. I will wait for You, surely wait for You, for Your love is my delight.

Heavenly Father, Loving King, our thoughts and motives cannot be hidden from Your sight. Our self-pity and pride, our cowardice and sloth, our anger and envy are laid bare before Your eyes and ours. The Gut Reaction of a Christian

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. The elements will be passed through the rows in the sanctuary and in the fellowship hall. We wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

Hymn No. 247 O Sacred Head, Now Wounded (During Communion)

Come, O Come, Thou Quickening Spirit

Come, O come, life-giving Spirit, God from all eternity! May your power never fail us; dwell within us constantly. Then shall truth and life and light banish all the gloom of night.

Show us, Lord, the path of blessing; when we trespass on our way, cast, O Lord, our sins behind You, and be with us day by day. Should we stray, O Lord, recall; work repentance when we fall.

Spirit, guard our faith forever; let not Satan, death, or shame ever part us from our Savior. Lord, our refuge is your name! When our hearts oppose Your will, let Your Word prove stronger still.

And when life’s frail thread is breaking, then assure us more and more. As the heirs of life unending, of the glory there in store, glory never yet expressed, glory of the saints at rest.

Across the Lands

You’re the Word of God the Father, from before the world began; ev’ry star and ev’ry planet has been fashioned by Your hand. All creation holds together by the power of Your voice: let the skies declare Your glory, let the land and seas rejoice!

Chorus: You’re the Author of creation, You’re the Lord of ev’ry man; and Your cry of love rings out across the lands.

Yet You left the gaze of angels, came to seek and save the lost, and exchanged the joy of heaven for the anguish of a cross. With a prayer You fed the hungry, with a word You stilled the sea. Yet how silently You suffered that the guilty may go free. Chorus

With a shout You rose victorious, wresting victory from the grave, and ascended into heaven leading captives in Your wake. Now You stand before the Father interceding for Your own. From each tribe and tongue and nation You are leading sinners home. Chorus

Facing a Task Unfinished

Facing a task unfinished, that drives us to our knees. A need that, undiminished, rebukes our slothful ease. We, who rejoice to know Thee, renew before Thy throne the solemn pledge we owe Thee to go and make Thee known.

Where other lords beside Thee hold their unhindered sway; where forces that defied Thee, defy Thee still today. With none to heed their crying for life, and love, and light, unnumbered souls are dying and pass into the night.

Chorus: We go to all the world, with kingdom hope unfurled, no other name has power to save but Jesus Christ, the Lord.

We bear the torch that, flaming fell from the hands of those ho gave their lives proclaiming that Jesus died and rose. Ours is the same commission, the same glad message ours; fired by the same ambition, to Thee we yield our powers.

O Father Who sustained them, O Spirit Who inspired, Savior, Whose love constrained them to toil with zeal untired. From cowardice defend us, from lethargy awake! Forth on Thine errands send us to labor for Thy sake.

How Great Is Our God

The splendor of the King, clothed in majesty; let all the earth rejoice, all the earth rejoice. He wraps Himself in light, and darkness tries to hide, and trembles at His voice, and trembles at His voice.

Chorus: How great is our God! Sing with me: how great is our God! And all will see how great, how great is our God!

Chorus (Spanish): Cuan grande es Dios. Cántale cuan grande es Dios. Y todos lo verán, cuan grande es Dios.

And age to age He stands, and time is in His hands; Beginning and the End, Beginning and the End. The Godhead three in one, Father, Spirit, Son, the Lion and the Lamb, the Lion and the Lamb. Chorus (Spanish)

Our Father, save us entirely from sin. Enable us to recognize our death to sin. When it tempts may we be deaf to its voice. Deliver us from the invasion as well as the dominion of sin. Forgive us for preoccupation with our own kingdoms and neglect of Yours. Forgive us for succumbing to our fear of people instead of being willing to show a costly, sacrificial love for people and telling them of Your matchless grace. Thank You that You have promised cleansing to all who come to You. Send us forth with the joy of our salvation so that others might taste and see that You are good. We ask in the name of Your Son, our Savior. Amen.

What Wondrous Love Is This (During Communion)

All Glory Be to Christ

Should nothing of our efforts stand, no legacy survive; unless the Lord does raise the house, in vain its builders strive. To you who boast tomorrow’s gain, tell me what is your life? A mist that vanishes at dawn; all glory be to Christ.

Chorus: All glory be to Christ our King! All glory be to Christ! His rule and reign we’ll ever sing, all glory be to Christ!

His will be done, His kingdom come, on earth as is above, Who is Himself our daily bread; praise Him, the Lord of love. Let living water satisfy the thirsty without price; we’ll take a cup of kindness yet; all glory be to Christ. Chorus

Lion of Judah

You’re the Lion of Judah, the Lamb Who was slain, You ascended to Heaven, and evermore will reign; at the end of the age when the earth you reclaim, You will gather the nations before You. And the eyes of all men will be fixed on the Lamb Who was crucified; with wisdom and mercy and justice You’ll reign at Your Father’s side.

Chorus: And the angels will cry, “Hail the Lamb Who was slain for the world, rule in pow’r.” And the earth will reply, “You shall reign as the King of all kings, and the Lord of all lords.”

There’s a shield in our hand, and a sword at our side, there’s a fire in our spirits that cannot be denied; ’cause the Father has told us, for these You have died, for the nations who gather before You. And the ears of all men need to hear of the Lamb Who was crucified; Who descended to hell, yet was raised up to reign at His Father’s side. Chorus

Chorus: None above Him, none before Him. All of time in His hands. For His throne, it shall remain and ever stand. All the power, all the glory, I will trust in His name. For my God is the Ancient of Days.

Though the dread of night overwhelms my soul, He is here with me. I am not alone. O, His love is sure and He knows my name. For my God is the Ancient of Days.

And Can It Be (Hymn No. 455)

And can it be that I should gain an interest in my Savior’s blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, that Thou my God shouldst die for me?

Chorus: Amazing love! How can it be, that Thou my God shouldst die for me?

He left His Father’s throne above - so free, so infinite His grace - humbled Himself – so great His love - and bled for all His chosen race. ’Tis mercy all, immense and free; for, O my God, it found out me! (Chorus)

Long my imprisoned spirit lay, fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; my chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. (Chorus)

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine, bold I approach th’ eternal throne, and claim the crown, through Christ my own. (Chorus)

Man of Sorrows

Man of sorrows, Lamb of God, by His own betrayed. The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid.

Silent as He stood accused, beaten, mocked, and scorned. Bowing to the Father’s will, He took a crown of thorns.

Chorus: Oh, that rugged cross, my salvation, where Your love poured out over me. Now my soul cries out, halleluiah, praise and honor unto Thee.

Sent of heaven, God’s own Son to purchase and redeem. And reconcile the very ones who nailed Him to that tree. Chorus

Now, my debt is paid, it is paid in full by the precious blood that my Jesus spilled. Now, the curse of sin has no hold on me. Whom the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed.

See the stone is rolled away, behold the empty tomb. Hallelujah, God be praised, He’s risen from the grave. Chorus

Days of Elijah

These are the days of Elijah, declaring the Word of the Lord; and these are the days of Your servant Moses, righteousness being restored; and though these are days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword; still we are the voice in the desert crying, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

Chorus: Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call; lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.

And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as flesh; and these are the days of Your servant David rebuilding a temple of praise; and these are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in the world; and we are the laborers in Your vineyard declaring the Word of the Lord.

Bridge: There is no god like Jehovah, there is no god like Jehovah; there is no god like Jehovah, there is no god like Jehovah.

Corporate Confession of Sin

Pastor Tim Dryden

Our heavenly Father, we come to You with hearts that have again gone astray. We have leaned on our own understanding rather than trusting You when Your ways are not our ways. We have set our judgments over Your Word, even subjecting it to our critiques. We have found our wills more trustworthy than Yours and in so doing, taken Your Name in vain. Please forgive us for our lack of faith and the lack of submission to Your Word and Your will that have flowed from it. Help us in our unbelief. Give us soft hearts that receive Your Word as the ground receives the rain. We confess these sins to You, trusting in Your provision of atonement in Your Son, our Savior, to cover us and reconcile us. Amen.

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (During Communion)

Christ exalted we will sing throughout unending ages!

Jesus, Everlasting King

Chorus: Jesus, everlasting King, accept the tribute which we bring; accept the well-deserved renown, and wear our praises as Your crown.

O send Your Spirit to impart rest and repentance to our hearts, like the dear hour when from above we first received Your pledge of love. Chorus

May every time of worship see Your grace revealed more rich and free, till we are raised to sing Your name at the great supper of the Lamb. Chorus

O that the months would roll away and bring the coronation day; the King of Grace shall fill the throne with all His Father’s glories on. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

I Hear the Words of Love

I hear the words of love, I gaze upon the blood, I see the mighty sacrifice, and I have peace with God.

’Tis everlasting peace! Sure as Jehovah’s name; ’tis stable as His steadfast throne, forevermore the same.

The clouds may come and go and storms may sweep my sky; this blood-sealed friendship changes not: the cross is ever nigh.

I change, He changes not, the Christ can never die; His love, not mine, the resting place, His truth, not mine, the tie.

Words by Horatius Bonar and music; Public Domain; CCLI License # 387777

Grace Greater Than Our Sin

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt! Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Chorus: Grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold, threaten the soul with infinite loss; grace that is greater, yes, grace untold, points to the Refuge, the mighty cross. Chorus

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away? Look! There is flowing a crimson tide, whiter than snow you may be today. Chorus

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, freely bestowed on all who believe! You that are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive? Chorus

Corporate Confession of Sin

Jeff Brauch, Ruling Elder

Lord God, we confess to You our sin and resistance to You. We need deeper trust to give ourselves to You. We need deeper knowledge of You as Savior, Master, Lord, and King. We need more power in prayer, more sweetness from Your Word, and a more steadfast grip on Your truth. Give us holiness in speech, thought and action. Plow deep in us, great Lord, that our hearts may be tilled fields, the roots of Your grace spreading far and wide in us until we have no master but You, no law but Your will, no delight but Your face, no wealth but Your favor, no good but Your pleasure, no peace but Your presence. We humbly ask this in the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

In Tenderness (During Communion)

I Greet Thee Who My Sure Redeemer Art

We greet You, sure Redeemer, from all strife, our only Trust and Savior of our life, Who pain did undergo for our poor sake; we pray You from our hearts all cares to take.

You are the King of mercy and of grace, reigning omnipotent in every place; so come, O King, and our whole being sway; shine on us with the light of Your pure day.

You are the life in which we do believe, from You all substance and all strength receive; sustain us by Your faith and by Your power, and give us strength in every trying hour.

Our hope is in no other save in You; our faith is built upon Your promise true; Lord, give us peace and make us calm and sure, that in Your strength we evermore endure.

Build Your Kingdom Here

Come set Your rule, and reign in our hearts again. Increase in us, we pray. Unveil why we’re made. Come set our hearts ablaze with hope, like wildfire in our very souls; Holy Spirit, come invade us now. We are Your Church; we need Your pow’r in us.

We seek Your kingdom first. We hunger and we thirst; refuse to waste our lives, for You’re our joy and prize. To see the captives’ hearts released; the hurt, the sick, the poor at peace. We lay down our lives for heaven’s cause. We are Your Church; we pray revive this earth.

Chorus: Build Your kingdom here. Let the darkness fear. Show Your mighty hand. Heal our streets and land. Set Your Church on fire. Win the nations back. Change the atmosphere. Build Your kingdom here, we pray.

Unleash Your kingdom’s pow’r, reaching the near and far. No force of hell can stop Your beauty, changing hearts. You made us for much more than this; awake the kingdom seed in us. Fill us with the strength and love of Christ. We are Your Church; we are the hope on earth. Chorus

Sing We the Song of Emmanuel

Sing we the song of Emmanuel; this, the Christ, Who was long foretold. Lo, in the shadows of Bethlehem, promise of dawn now our eyes behold.

God, Most High, in a manger laid. Lift your voices and now proclaim, “Great and glorious, Love has come to us.” Join now with the hosts of heaven.

Come we to welcome Emmanuel, King Who came with no crown or throne. Helpless, He lay, the Invincible. Maker of Mary, now Mary’s son.

O, what wisdom to save us all. Shepherds, sages before Him fall. Grace and majesty, what humility. Come on bended knee, adore Him.

Go spread the news of Emmanuel. Joy and peace for the weary heart. Lift up your heads for your King has come. Sing, for the Light overwhelms the dark.

Glory shining for all to see. Hope alive, let the gospel ring. God has made a way. He will have the praise. Tell the world His name is Jesus.

Jesus, Messiah

He became sin, Who knew no sin; that we might become His righteousness; He humbled Himself, and carried the cross. Love so amazing, love so amazing.

Chorus: Jesus, Messiah; name above all names; blessed Redeemer; Emmanuel. The Rescue for sinners, the Ransom from heaven; Jesus, Messiah, Lord of all.

His body the bread, His blood the wine broken and poured out, all for love. The whole earth trembled, and the veil was torn. Love so amazing, love so amazing. Chorus

Heavenly Father, please forgive our sins. Forgive the sins that we remember, and the sins we have forgotten. Forgive our many failures in the face of temptation, and those times when we have been stubborn in the face of correction. Forgive the times we have been proud of our own achievements and those when we have failed to boast in Your works. Forgive the harsh judgments we have made of others, and the leniency we have shown ourselves. Forgive the lies we have told to others, and the truths we have avoided. He Will Hold Me Fast

When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast; when the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast. I could never keep my hold through life’s fearful path; for my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.

Chorus: He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast; for my Savior loves me so, He will hold me fast!

Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast; precious in His holy sight, He will hold me fast. He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last; bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast. Chorus

For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast; justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast. Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast ’til our faith is turned to sight, when He comes at last! Chorus

Grace Alone

I was an orphan, lost at the fall, running away when I'd hear You call, but, Father, You worked Your will. I had no righteousness of my own. I had no right to draw near Your throne, but, Father, You loved me still.

Chorus: And in love before You laid the world’s foundation, You predestined to adopt me as Your own. You have raised me up so high above my station; I'm a child of God by grace and grace alone.

You left Your home to seek out the lost. You knew the great and terrible cost, but, Jesus, Your face was set. I worked my fingers down to the bone, but nothing I did could ever atone. But, Jesus, You paid my debt.

By Your blood I have redemption and salvation. Lord, You died that I might reap what You have sown, and You rose that I might be a new creation. I am born again by grace and grace alone.

Bridge: I was in darkness all of my life. I never knew the day from the night, but, Spirit, You made me see. I swore I knew the way on my own, head full of rocks, a heart made of stone; but, Spirit, You moved in me.

And at Your touch my sleeping spirit was awakened; on my darkened heart the light of Christ has shone. Called into a kingdom that cannot be shaken, heaven's citizen by grace and grace alone.

So I’ll stand in faith by grace and grace alone. I will run the race by grace and grace alone. I will slay my sin by grace and grace alone. I will reach the end by grace and grace alone.

On Jordan’s Stormy Banks

On Jordan’s stormy banks I stand and cast a wishful eye to Canaan’s fair and happy land, where my possessions lie.

All o’er those wide extended plains, shines one eternal day. There God the Son forever reigns, and scatters night away.

Chorus: I am bound, (I am bound), I am bound, (I am bound), I am bound for the Promised Land.

No chilling winds nor poisonous breath can reach that healthful shore; sickness, sorrow, pain, and death are felt and feared no more. Chorus

When shall I reach that happy place and be forever blessed, when shall I see my Father’s face and in His bosom rest? Chorus

Holy Father, You see us as we are, and know our inmost thoughts. We confess that we are unworthy of Your gracious care. We forget that all life comes from You and that to You all life returns. We have not sought to do Your will with our whole hearts. We have not lived as grateful children, nor loved as Christ loved us. Apart from You, we are nothing. Only Your grace can sustain us. Lord, in Your mercy, forgive us, heal us, and make us whole. Set us free from our sin, and restore us to the joy of Your salvation now and forever. Amen.

His Love Can Never Fail

I do not ask to see the way my feet will have to tread; but only that my soul may feed upon the living Bread. ’Tis better far that I should walk by faith close to His side; I may not know the way I go, but oh, I know my Guide.

Chorus: His love can never fail, His love can never fail. My soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail; my soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail.

And if my feet would go astray, they cannot, for I know that Jesus guides my falt’ring steps as joyfully I go. And tho’ I may not see His face, my faith is strong and clear, that in each hour of sore distress my Savior will be near. Chorus

I will not fear, tho’ darkness come abroad o’er all the land, if I may only feel the touch of His own loving hand. And tho’ I tremble when I think how weak I am and frail, my soul is satisfied to know His love can never fail. Chorus

Blessed Be your Name

Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful, where Your streams of abundance flow, blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name. When I’m found in the desert place, though I walk through the wilderness, blessed be Your name.

Chorus: Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise. And when the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say, “Blessed be the name of the Lord, blessed be Your name. Blessed be the Name of the Lord, blessed be Your glorious name.”

Blessed be Your name when the sun’s shining down on me, when the world’s “all as it should be.” Blessed be Your name.

Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering, though there’s pain in the offering, blessed be Your name. Chorus

Bridge: You give and take away, You give and take away. My heart will choose to say, “Lord, blessed be Your name.”

Christ, the Sure and Steady Anchor

Christ, the sure and steady Anchor in the fury of the storm, when the winds of doubt blow through me and my sails have all been torn. In the suffering, in the sorrow, when my sinking hopes are few, I will hold fast to the Anchor; it shall never be removed.

Christ, the sure and steady Anchor while the tempest rages on, when temptation claims the battle and it seems the night has won. Deeper still, then goes the Anchor, though I justly stand accused. I will hold fast to the Anchor; it shall never be removed.

Christ, the sure and steady Anchor through the floods of unbelief. Hopeless, somehow, O my soul, now lift your eyes to Calvary. This my ballast of assurance – see His love forever proved. All my hope is in the Anchor; it shall never be removed.

Christ, the sure and steady Anchor as we face the wave of death, when these trials give way to glory, as we draw our final breath. We will cross that great horizon, clouds behind, and life secured. And the calm will be the better, for the storms that we endured.

Christ, the shore of our salvation, ever faithful, ever true. We will hold fast to the Anchor; it shall never be removed.

Lord, I Need You

Lord, I come, I confess. Bowing here, I find my rest. And without You, I fall apart. You're the one that guides my heart.

Chorus: Lord, I need You, oh, I need You. Ev’ry hour I need You. My one defense, my righteousness; oh, God, how I need You.

Where sin runs deep, Your grace is more. Where grace is found is where You are. And where You are, Lord I am free. Holiness is Christ in me. Chorus

Blair Allen, Ruling Elder

We confess, our Father, that we do not live up to the family name. We are more ready to resent than to forgive, more ready to manipulate than to serve, more ready to fear than to love, more ready to keep our distance than to welcome, more ready to compete than to help. At the root of this behavior is mistrust. We do not love one another as we should, because we do not believe that You love us as You do. Forgive us our cold unbelief. And make more vivid to us the meaning and depth of Your love at the cross. Show us what it cost You to give up Your Son that we might become Your sons and daughters. We ask this in the name of Jesus, our righteousness. Amen.

How Firm a Foundation (Instrumental During Communion)

How Firm a Foundation

How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He has said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

“Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed; for I am your God, and will still give you aid; I’ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand, upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.”

“When through the deep waters I call you to go, the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; for I will be with you, your troubles to bless, and sanctify to you your deepest distress.”

“When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be your supply; the flame shall not hurt you; I only design your dross to consume, and your gold to refine.”

“The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to His foes; that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”

He Is Exalted

He is exalted, the King is exalted on high, I will praise Him. He is exalted, forever exalted and I will praise His Name!

He is the Lord, forever His truth shall reign. Heaven and earth rejoice in His holy name. He is exalted, the King is exalted on high!

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

Jesus Paid It All

And I hear the Savior say, “Thy strength indeed is small. Child of weakness watch and pray, find in Me thine all in all.”

Chorus: Jesus paid it all; all to Him I owe. Sin had left a crimson stain; He washed it white as snow.

Lord, now indeed I find Thy pow’r and Thine alone can change the leper’s spots, and melt the heart of stone. Chorus

And when before the throne I stand in Him complete, Jesus died my soul to save; my lips shall still repeat. Chorus

Bridge: Oh, praise the One Who paid my debt, and raised this life up from the dead. Chorus

Words and Music by Elvina M. Hall, Alex Nifong and John Thomas Grape; 2006, worshiptogether.com songs and sixsteps Music; CCLI License # 387777

Sovereign Over Us

There is strength within the sorrow, there is beauty in our tears. And You meet us in our mourning with a love that casts out fear.

You are working in our waiting, sanctifying us; when beyond our understanding, You’re teaching us to trust.

Chorus: Your plans are still to prosper, You’ve not forgotten us; You’re with us in the fire and the flood. Faithful forever, perfect in love; You are sov’reign over us.

You are wisdom unimagined, who could understand Your ways, reigning high above the heavens, reaching down in endless grace.

You’re the lifter of the lowly, compassionate and kind, You surround, and You uphold me; and Your promises are my delight.

Bridge: Even what the enemy means for evil, You turn it for our good, You turn it for our good and for Your glory. Even in the valley You are faithful; You’re working for our good, You’re working for our good and for Your glory. Chorus

Corporate Confession of Sin

Blair Allen, Ruling Elder

O Spirit of God, come, work repentance in our souls. Cause us to see sin in its odious colors that we might hate it. Show us our ruined selves and the help there is in You. Melt our hearts with Your majesty and mercy. Give us clear eyes to see Your ability to save, Your arms outstretched, Your power and love at work in us. Help us bear Your image, observe Your laws, to be monuments to the effect of Your grace, trophies of Your victory. Fill us with the joy of our salvation we ask, through the name of Your Son, our Savior. Amen.

The New Passover

O Praise the Name (Anástasis)

I cast my mind to Calvary where Jesus bled and died for me. I see His wounds, His hands, His feet. My Savior on that cursed tree.

His body bound and drenched in tears, they laid Him down in Joseph’s tomb. The entrance sealed by heavy stone. Messiah still and all alone.

Chorus: O praise the Name of the Lord our God. O praise His Name forevermore. For endless days we will sing Your praise. Oh Lord, oh Lord our God.

Then on the third at break of dawn, the Son of heaven rose again. O trampled death, where is your sting? The angels roar for Christ the King. Chorus

He shall return in robes of white, the blazing sun shall pierce the night. And I will rise among the saints, my gaze transfixed on Jesus’ face. Chorus

Holy, Holy, Holy! (Hymn No. 100)

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! Early in the morning our song shall rise to Thee. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Holy, holy, holy! All the saints adore Thee, casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea; cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee, Who wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.

Holy, holy, holy! Though the darkness hide Thee, though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see, only Thou art holy; there is none beside Thee perfect in pow’r, in love, and purity.

Holy, holy, holy! Lord God Almighty! All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea. Holy, holy, holy! Merciful and mighty! God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!

Nothing but the Blood (Hymn No. 307)

What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus; what can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Chorus: O, precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

For my pardon this I see, nothing but the blood of Jesus; for my cleansing, this my plea, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Chorus

Nothing can for sin atone, nothing but the blood of Jesus; naught of good that I have done, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Chorus

This is all my hope and peace, nothing but the blood of Jesus; this is all my righteousness, nothing but the blood of Jesus. Chorus

I Stand Amazed

I stand amazed in the presence of Jesus the Nazarene, and wonder how He could love me, a sinner, condemned, unclean.

Chorus: How marvelous, how wonderful! And my song shall ever be: how marvelous, how wonderful is my Savior’s love for me!

For me it was in the garden He prayed, “Not My will, but Thine.” He had no tears for His own griefs, but sweat drops of blood for mine. Chorus

He took my sins and my sorrows; He made them His very own. He bore the burden to Calvary, and suffered and died alone. Chorus

When with the ransomed in glory His face I at last shall see, ’twill be my joy through the ages to sing of His love for me. Chorus

Our Father, we have sinned times without number, and been guilty of pride and unbelief, and of neglect to seek You in our daily lives. Our sins and shortcomings present us with a list of accusations, but we thank You that they will not stand against us, for all have been laid on Christ. Deliver us from every evil habit, every interest of former sins, everything that dims the brightness of Your grace in us, everything that prevents us taking delight in You. Amen.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. Individuals pick up their elements from the tables in the sanctuary or in the fellowship hall and wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

O Sacred Head, Now Wounded (Hymn No. 247) (During Communion)

The Solid Rock

My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus’ blood and righteousness; I dare not trust the sweetest frame, but wholly lean on Jesus’ name.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

When darkness seems to hide His face, I rest on His unchanging grace; in ev’ry high and stormy gale my anchor holds within the veil.

His oath, His covenant, His blood support me in the whelming flood; when all around my soul gives way, He then is all my hope and stay.

When He shall come with trumpet sound, oh may I then in Him be found; dressed in His righteousness alone, faultless to stand before the throne.

Crown Him with Many Crowns

Crown Him with many crowns, the Lamb upon His throne; hark how the heavenly anthem drowns all music but its own! Awake, my soul and sing, of Him who died for thee, and hail Him as thy matchless King throughout eternity.

Crown Him the Lord of life Who triumphed o’er the grave, and rose victorious in the strife for those He came to save! His glories now we sing Who died and rose on high, Who died eternal life to bring, and lives that death may die.

Crown Him the Lord of love, behold His hands and side, rich wounds yet visible above, in beauty glorified. No angel in the sky can fully bear that sight, but downward bends each burning eye at mysteries so bright.

Crown Him the Lord of years, the Potentate of time, Creator of the rolling spheres ineffably sublime! All hail, Redeemer, hail! For Thou hast died for me; Thy praise shall never, never fail throughout eternity.

Our God

Water You turned into wine, opened the eyes of the blind; there’s no one like You, none like You.

Into the darkness You shine, out of the ashes, we rise; there’s no one like You, none like You.

Chorus: Our God is greater, our God is stronger; God, You are higher than any other. Our God is healer, awesome in power our God, our God.

Bridge: And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us, then what could stand against? And if our God is for us, then who could ever stop us, and if our God is with us, then what could stand against? What could stand against? Chorus

There Is a Fountain

There is a fountain filled with blood drawn from Immanuel's veins; and sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains; lose all their guilty stains, lose all their guilty stains; and sinners, plunged beneath that flood, lose all their guilty stains.

The dying thief rejoiced to see that fountain in his day; and there have I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away; wash all my sins away, wash all my sins away; and there have I, though vile as he, wash all my sins away.

Dear dying Lamb, Thy precious blood shall never lose its pow'r, till all the ransomed Church of God be saved, to sin no more; be saved, to sin no more, be saved, to sin no more; till all the ransomed Church of God be saved, to sin no more.

E’er since by faith I saw the stream Thy flowing wounds supply, redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die; and shall be till I die, and shall be till I die; redeeming love has been my theme, and shall be till I die.

When this poor lisping stammering tongue lies silent in the grave, then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save; I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save; then in a nobler, sweeter song, I’ll sing Thy pow’r to save.

Awesome and compassionate God, You have loved us with unfailing, self-giving mercy, but we have not loved You. You constantly call us, but we do not listen. You ask us to love, but we walk away from neighbors in need, wrapped in our own concerns. We condone evil, prejudice, warfare, and greed. We Come, O Christ, to You

We come, O Christ, to You, true Son of God and man, by Whom all things consist, in Whom all life began: in You alone we live and move, and have our being in Your love.

You are the Way to God, Your blood our ransom paid; in You we face our Judge and Maker unafraid. Before the throne absolved we stand, Your love has met Your law’s demand.

You only are true Life, to know You is to live the more abundant life that earth can never give: O risen Lord! We live in You: in us each day Your life renew!

Magnificent, Marvelous, Matchless Love

Magnificent, marvelous, matchless love too vast and astounding to tell, forever existing in worlds above, now offered and given to all. Oh, fountain of beauty eternal, the Father, the Spirit, the Son, sufficient and endlessly generous, magnificent, marvelous, matchless love.

Creation is brimming with thankfulness, the mountains, exultant they stand, the seasons rejoice in Your faithfulness, all life is sustained by Your hand. You crown every meadow with color; You paint every shade in the sky. Each day the dawn wakes as an encore of magnificent, marvelous, matchless love.

Chorus: How great, how sure, His love endures forevermore. Magnificent, marvelous, matchless love.

What grace that You entered our brokenness; You came in the fullness of time. How far we had fallen from righteousness but not from the mercies of Christ. Your cross is our door to redemption; Your death is our fullness of life. That day, how forgiveness flowed as a flood, magnificent, marvelous, matchless love.

Bridge: United in Your resurrection, You lift us to infinite heights. Could anything sever or take us from magnificent, marvelous, matchless love. Chorus

Praise is rising, eyes are turning to You. We turn to You. Hope is stirring; hearts are yearning for You. We long for You;

Chorus: Hosanna, hosanna! You are the God who saves us, worthy of all our praises! Hosanna, hosanna! Come have Your way among us; we welcome You here, Lord Jesus.

Hear the sound of hearts returning to You; we turn to You. In Your Kingdom broken lives are made new. You make us new.

Fairest Lord Jesus

Fairest Lord Jesus; Ruler of all nature, O Thou of God and man the Son. Thee will I cherish; Thee will I honor, Thou my soul’s glory, joy, and crown.

Fair are the meadows; fairer still the woodlands, robed in the blooming garb of spring, Jesus is fairer; Jesus is purer, Who makes the woeful heart to sing.

Fair is the sunshine; fairer still the moonlight and all the twinkling starry host.

Jesus shines brighter; Jesus shines purer than all the angels heav’n can boast.

Beautiful Saviour! Lord of all the nations! Son of God and Son of man! Glory and honor, praise, adoration, now and forevermore be Thine!

Corporate Confession of Sin

Pastor Jeff Elliott

Almighty Father, we confess and acknowledge most sincerely before Your holy majesty that we are poor sinners, conceived and born in iniquity and corruption, prone to do evil, incapable of any good, and in our depravity we transgress Your holy commandments without ceasing. In so doing, we purchase for ourselves, through Your righteous judgment, our ruin and perdition. Nevertheless, O Lord, we are grieved that we have offended You; and we condemn ourselves and our sins with true repentance, asking Your grace to relieve our distress. O God and Father most gracious and full of compassion, have mercy on us in the name of Your Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. And, as You blot out our sins and stains, magnify and increase in us day by day the grace of Your Holy Spirit, producing in us the fruits of righteousness and innocence which are pleasing to You. We ask in the name of Christ our Lord. Amen.

Chorus

When on the day the great I Am, the faithful and the true, the Lamb Who was for sinners slain, is making all things new. Behold, our God shall live with us and be our steadfast light. And we shall e’er His people be; all glory be to Christ. Chorus

10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)

Chorus: Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul; worship His holy name. Sing like never before, O my soul; I’ll worship Your holy name.

The sun comes up it’s a new day dawning, it’s time to sing Your song again. Whatever may pass, and whatever lies before me, let me be singing when the evening comes. Chorus

You’re rich in love and You’re slow to anger. Your name is great and Your heart is kind. For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing; ten thousand reasons for my heart to find. Chorus

And on that day, when my strength is failing, the end draws near, and my time has come; still, my soul will sing Your praise unending ten thousand years, and then forevermore!

Let Us Love and Sing and Wonder / Nothing But the Blood

Let us love and sing and wonder; let us praise the Savior’s name. He has hushed the law’s loud thunder; He has quenched Mount Sinai’s flame. He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood, He has washed us with His blood; He has brought us nigh to God.

Let us sing, though fierce temptation threaten hard to bear us down, for the Lord, our strong salvation, holds in view the conqueror’s crown. He Who washed us with His blood, He who washed us with His blood, He who washed us with His blood soon will bring us home to God. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Let us wonder, grace and justice join and point to mercy’s store. When through grace in Christ our trust is, justice smiles and asks no more. He Who washed us with His blood, He who washed us with His blood, He who washed us with His blood has secured our way to God. What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Let us praise and join the chorus of the saints enthroned on high. Here they trusted Him before us; now their praises fill the sky. Thou hast washed us with Thy blood, Thou hast washed us with Thy blood, Thou has washed us with Thy blood; Thou art worthy, Lamb of God! What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. What can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Oh precious is the flow that makes me white as snow; no other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus.

Better Is One Day

How lovely is Your dwelling place, O Lord Almighty. For my soul longs and even faints for You. For here my heart is satisfied within Your presence. I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings.

Chorus: Better is one day in Your courts, better is one day in Your house, better is one day in Your courts than thousands elsewhere.

One thing I ask and I would seek: to see Your beauty, to find You in the place Your glory dwells.

My heart and flesh cry out for You, the living God. Your Spirit’s water to my soul. I’ve tasted and I’ve seen. Come once again to me. I will draw near to You, I will draw near to You, to You.

Corporate Confession of Sin

Kurt Nelson, Ruling Elder

Our Father, You Who have given us life, even life eternal, we come as those needing Your forgiveness. Yet again we have followed our own hearts and ignored Your ways. Our hands, our mouths, our hearts, have been used to love ourselves and not You or others. We plead for You to cleanse us in the blood of Jesus. Create in us clean hearts and do not take Your Holy Spirit from us. Use us this week as Your servants and keep us mindful that we are also Your children. Make us like Your Son, our Lord and elder Brother, Jesus, in Whose name we pray. Amen.

A Faith That Goes Grows

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. Come and Welcome (During Communion)

Before the Throne of God Above

Before the throne of God above I have a strong and perfect plea; a great High Priest whose name is Love, Who ever lives and pleads for me. My name is graven on His hands; my name is written on His heart. I know that while in heav’n He stands, no tongue can bid me thence depart; no tongue can bid me thence depart.

When Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the guilt within, upward I look and see Him there Who made an end of all my sin. Because the sinless Savior died, my sinful soul is counted free; for God, the Just, is satisfied to look on Him and pardon me; to look on Him and pardon me.

Behold Him there, the Risen Lamb, my perfect, spotless Righteousness; the great unchangeable I AM, the King of Glory and of grace. One with Himself I cannot die; my soul is purchased by His blood. My life is hid with Christ on high; with Christ, my Savior and my God; with Christ, my Savior and my God.

I bow before the cross of Christ, and marvel at this love divine, God’s perfect Son was sacrificed to make me righteous in God’s eyes. This river’s depths I cannot know, but I can glory in its flood; the Lord Most High has bowed down low, and poured on me His glorious love, and poured on me His glorious love.

He Has Come for Us (God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen)

God rest ye merry gentlemen, let nothing you dismay. Remember Christ, our Savior, was born on Christmas day to save us all from Satan's pow’r when we were gone astray.

Pre-chorus: O, tidings of comfort and joy, comfort and joy. O, tidings of comfort and joy.

Chorus: He has come for us, this Jesus. He’s the hope for all mankind. He has come for us, the Messiah. Born to give us life. (He is born to give us life.)

From God, our heav’nly Father, a blessed angel came. And unto certain shepherds brought tidings of the same. How that in Bethlehem was born the Son of God by name.

Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King; peace on earth, and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled!” Joyful, all ye nations, rise, join the triumph of the skies; with th’angelic host proclaim, “Christ is born in Bethlehem!”

Chorus: Hark! the herald angels sing, “Glory to the newborn King.”

Christ, by highest heav’n adored, Christ, the everlasting Lord! Late in time behold Him come, offspring of the Virgin’s womb. Veiled in flesh the God-head see; hail th’incarnate Deity, pleased as man with men to dwell, Jesus, our Emmanuel. Chorus

Hail the heav’n-born Prince of Peace! Hail the Sun of Righteousness! Light and life to all He brings, ris’n with healing in His wings. Mild He lays His glory by, born that man no more may die, born to raise the sons of earth, born to give them second birth. Chorus

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel that mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appear.

O come, Thou Dayspring from on high and cause Thy light on us to rise; disperse the gloomy clouds of night and death’s dark shadow put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee O Israel!

O come, O come, true Prophet of the Lord, and turn the key to heaven’s door; be Thou our comforter and guide and lead us to the Father’s side. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall by His word our darkness dispel.

O come, our great High Priest, and intercede Thy sacrifice, our only plea. The judgment we no longer fear; Thy precious blood has brought us near. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel has banished ev’ry fear of hell.

O Come, Thou King of nations bring an end to all our suffering, bid ev’ry pain and sorrow cease and reign now as our Prince of Peace. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come again with us to dwell.

Once in Royal David’s City

Once in royal David’s city stood a lowly cattle shed, where a mother laid her baby in a manger for His bed: Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ her little child.

He came down to earth from heaven Who is God and Lord of all, and His shelter was a stable, and His cradle was a stall: with the poor and meek and lowly lived on earth, our Savior holy.

Jesus is our childhood’s pattern, day by day like us He grew, He was little, weak, and helpless, tears and smiles like us He knew: and He feels for all our sadness, and He shares in all our gladness.

And our eyes at last shall see Him, through His own redeeming love; for that child so dear and gentle, is our Lord in heaven above, and He leads His children on to the place where He has gone.

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

It Came upon the Midnight Clear (Hymn No. 200)

It came upon the midnight clear, that glorious song of old, from angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold: “Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heav’n’s all gracious King”; the world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing.

Still through the cloven skies they come, with peaceful wings unfurled, and still their heav’nly music floats o’er all the weary world: above its sad and lowly plains they bend on hov’ring wing, and ever o’er its babel sounds the blessed angels sing.

And ye, beneath life’s crushing load, whose forms are bending low, who toil along the climbing way with painful steps and slow, look now! For glad and golden hours come swiftly on the wing: O rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing.

For lo, the days are hast’ning on, by prophet bards foretold, when with the ever-circling years comes round the age of gold; when peace shall over all the earth its ancient splendors fling, and the whole world give back the song which now the angels sing.

Joy to the World! The Lord Is Come (Hymn No. 195) / Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee

Joy to the world! The Lord is come: let earth receive her King; let every heart prepare Him room, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing, and heaven, and heaven and nature sing.

Joy to the earth! The Savior reigns: let men their songs employ; while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains repeat the sounding joy, repeat the sounding joy, repeat, repeat the sounding joy.

No more let sins and sorrows grow, nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow far as the curse is found, far as the curse is found, far as, far as the curse is found.

He rules the world with truth and grace, and makes the nations prove the glories of His righteousness and wonders of His love, and wonders of His love, and wonders, wonders of His love.

Joyful, joyful, we adore Thee, God of glory, Lord of love; hearts unfold like flowers before Thee, opening to the sun above. Melt the clouds of sin and sadness; drive the dark of doubt away. Giver of immortal gladness, fill us with the light of day!

All Thy works with joy surround Thee, earth and heaven reflect Thy rays. Stars and angels sing around Thee, center of unbroken praise. Ever singing, march we onward, victors in the midst of strife. Joyful music lifts us sunward in the triumph song of lie.

What Child Is This (Hymn No. 213)

What Child is this, Who laid to rest, on Mary’s lap is sleeping? Whom angels greet with anthems sweet, while shepherds watch are keeping? This, this is Christ the King, Whom shepherds guard and angels sing: haste, haste to bring Him laud, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

Why lies He in such mean estate, where ox and ass are feeding? Good Christian, fear; for sinners here the silent Word is pleading. Nails, spears, shall pierce Him through; the cross be borne for me, for you: hail, hail the Word made flesh, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

So bring Him incense, gold, and myrrh; come, peasant, king, to own Him; the King of kings salvation brings, let loving hearts enthrone Him. Raise, raise a song on high, the virgin sings her lullaby; joy, joy for Christ is born, the Babe, the Son of Mary.

Immanuel

From the squalor of a borrowed stable, by the Spirit and the virgin’s faith, to the anguish and the shame of scandal, came the Savior of the human race. But the skies were filled with the praise of heav’n. Shepherds listen as the angels tell of the gift of God come down to man, at the dawning of Immanuel.

King of heaven now the Friend of sinners, humble Servant in the Father’s hands, filled with power and the Holy Spirit, filled with mercy for the broken man. Yes, He walked my road, and He felt my pain, joys and sorrows that I know so well; yet His righteous steps give me hope again. I will follow my Immanuel.

Through the kisses of a friend’s betrayal, He was lifted on a cruel cross. He was punished for a world’s transgression; He was suffering to save the lost. He fights for breath, He fights for me, loosing sinners from the claims of hell; and, with a shout our souls are free; death defeated by Immanuel.

Now He’s standing in the place of honor, crowned with glory on the highest throne, interceding for His own beloved ’til His Father calls to bring them home. Then the skies will part as the trumpet sounds hope of heaven or the fear of hell. But the Bride will run to her Lover’s arms, giving glory to Immanuel.

In the Bleak Midwinter

In the bleak midwinter, frosty wind made moan; earth stood hard as iron, water like a stone. Snow had fallen snow on snow, snow on snow; in the bleak midwinter, long ago.

Our God heav’n cannot hold Him, nor earth sustain; heav’n and earth shall flee away when He comes to reign. in the bleak midwinter a stable place sufficed, the Lord God Almighty, Jesus Christ.

Angels and archangels may have gathered there; cherubim and seraphim thronged the air. But His mother only, in her maiden bliss, worshipped the Beloved with a kiss.

What can I give Him, poor as I am? If I were a shepherd, I would bring a lamb. If I were a wise man, I would do my part; yet what can I give Him? Give my heart.

The First Noel / Above All

The first Noel the angel did say was to certain poor shepherds in fields as they lay; in fields where they lay keeping their sheep, on a cold winter’s night that was so deep.

Chorus: Noel, Noel, Noel, Noel, born is the King of Israel.

They looked up and saw a star shining in the east, beyond them far; and to the earth it gave great light, and so it continued both day and night. Chorus

Above all powers, above all kings, above all nature and all created things; above all wisdom and all the ways of man, You were here before the world began.

Above all kingdoms, above all thrones, above all wonders the world has ever known; above all wealth and treasure of the earth, there’s no way to measure what You’re worth. Chorus

Father, we confess that we often do not live as if we were raised to new life as we have been through the resurrection of Your Son, living in the certain knowledge of Your great mercy and love. Distracted by the world around us we fail to hear Your voice, or hide when faith is challenged as we wander off the path. Forgive us, we pray; restore the love that we first had, a faith that can endure. Keep our eyes fixed on You, Lord, and with You at our right hand we shall not be shaken. We ask in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Christmas Offering (** You Can Give by Text: Text "Give" to 757-500-8680. **)

Over the skies of Bethlehem appeared a star, while angels sang to lowly shepherds; three wise men seeking truth traveled from afar hoping to find the child from heaven; falling on their knees, they bowed before the humble Prince of Peace.

Chorus: I bring an offering of worship to my King; no one on earth deserves the praises that I sing; Jesus, may You receive the honor that You’re due; oh Lord, I bring an offering to You. I bring an offering to You.

The sun cannot compare to the glory of Your love; there is no shadow in Your presence; no mortal man would dare to stand before Your throne, before the Holy One of heaven; it’s only by Your blood, it’s only through Your mercy, Lord, I come. Chorus

Come, thou Long-Expected Jesus (Hymn No. 196)

Come, Thou long expected Jesus, born to set Thy people free; from our fears and sins release us; let us find our rest in Thee. Israel’s strength and consolation, hope of all the earth Thou art, dear Desire of ev’ry nation, joy of ev’ry longing heart.

Joy to those who long to see Thee, Day-spring from on high, appear; come, Thou promised Rod of Jesse, of Thy birth we long to hear! O’er the hills the angels singing news, glad tiding of a birth: “Go to Him, your praises bringing; Christ the Lord has come to earth.”

Come to earth to taste our sadness, He whose glories knew no end; by His life He brings us gladness, our Redeemer, Shepherd, Friend. Leaving riches without number, born within a cattle stall; this the everlasting wonder, Christ was born the Lord of all.

Born Thy people to deliver, born a Child and yet a King, born to reign in us forever, now Thy gracious kingdom bring. By Thine own eternal Spirit rule in all our hearts alone; by Thine all sufficient merit, raise us to Thy glorious throne.
