NCPC Sunday Morning Worship Service

February 20, 2022

Jesus, Everlasting King

Chorus: Jesus, everlasting King, accept the tribute which we bring; accept the well-deserved renown, and wear our praises as Your crown.

O send Your Spirit to impart rest and repentance to our hearts, like the dear hour when from above we first received Your pledge of love. Chorus

May every time of worship see Your grace revealed more rich and free, till we are raised to sing Your name at the great supper of the Lamb. Chorus

O that the months would roll away and bring the coronation day; the King of Grace shall fill the throne with all His Father’s glories on. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

I Hear the Words of Love

I hear the words of love, I gaze upon the blood, I see the mighty sacrifice, and I have peace with God.

’Tis everlasting peace! Sure as Jehovah’s name; ’tis stable as His steadfast throne, forevermore the same.

The clouds may come and go and storms may sweep my sky; this blood-sealed friendship changes not: the cross is ever nigh.

I change, He changes not, the Christ can never die; His love, not mine, the resting place, His truth, not mine, the tie.

Grace Greater Than Our Sin

Marvelous grace of our loving Lord, grace that exceeds our sin and our guilt! Yonder on Calvary's mount outpoured, there where the blood of the Lamb was spilled.

Chorus: Grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that will pardon and cleanse within; grace, grace, God’s grace, grace that is greater than all our sin!

Sin and despair, like the sea waves cold, threaten the soul with infinite loss; grace that is greater, yes, grace untold, points to the Refuge, the mighty cross. Chorus

Dark is the stain that we cannot hide. What can avail to wash it away? Look! There is flowing a crimson tide, whiter than snow you may be today. Chorus

Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace, freely bestowed on all who believe! You that are longing to see His face, will you this moment His grace receive? Chorus

Corporate Confession of Sin

Jeff Brauch, Ruling Elder

Lord God, we confess to You our sin and resistance to You. We need deeper trust to give ourselves to You. We need deeper knowledge of You as Savior, Master, Lord, and King. We need more power in prayer, more sweetness from Your Word, and a more steadfast grip on Your truth. Give us holiness in speech, thought and action. Plow deep in us, great Lord, that our hearts may be tilled fields, the roots of Your grace spreading far and wide in us until we have no master but You, no law but Your will, no delight but Your face, no wealth but Your favor, no good but Your pleasure, no peace but Your presence. We humbly ask this in the name of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen

The Words of Eternal Life

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. The elements will be passed through the rows in the sanctuary and in the fellowship hall. We wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

In Tenderness (During Communion)

I Greet Thee Who My Sure Redeemer Art

We greet You, sure Redeemer, from all strife, our only Trust and Savior of our life, Who pain did undergo for our poor sake; we pray You from our hearts all cares to take.

You are the King of mercy and of grace, reigning omnipotent in every place; so come, O King, and our whole being sway; shine on us with the light of Your pure day.

You are the life in which we do believe, from You all substance and all strength receive; sustain us by Your faith and by Your power, and give us strength in every trying hour.

Our hope is in no other save in You; our faith is built upon Your promise true; Lord, give us peace and make us calm and sure, that in Your strength we evermore endure.
