NCPC Sunday Morning Worship Service

April 24, 2022

Here I Am to Worship

Light of the world, You stepped out into darkness; opened my eyes, let me see. Beauty that made this heart adore You, hope of a life spent with You.

Chorus: Here I am to worship; here I am to bow down; here I am to say that You’re my God. You’re altogether lovely, altogether worthy, altogether wonderful to me.

King of all days, oh, so highly exalted; glorious in heaven above. Humbly You came to the earth You created, all for love’s sake became poor. Chorus

And I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. I’ll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

One True God

One voice in the dark; a song that lights up the stars; one breath that gives life. One, sov’reign in pow'r, Who speaks with thunder and fire; one Lord, one King. There is no other that can compare to You.

Chorus: You are the One alone in greatness, the One Who never changes. Jesus, You are the One Who rose in power, the One who reigns forever. Jesus, (You’re) the one true God.

(You’re the one true God.)

One man on a cross; one light of the world; one name, one word. One way to be saved; one Lamb that was slain; one love above all. There is no other that can compare to You.

Bridge: And we have seen the glory of the one and only Son of God. Yes, we have seen the glory of the one and only Son of God.

In Christ Alone / The Solid Rock

In Christ alone my hope is found, He is my light, my strength, my song; this Cornerstone, this solid ground; firm through the fiercest drought and storm. What heights of love, what depths of peace, when fears are stilled, when strivings cease; my Comforter, my all in all, here in the love of Christ I stand.

In Christ alone, who took on flesh, fullness of God in helpless Babe! This gift of love and righteousness, scorned by the ones He came to save. Till on that cross as Jesus died, the wrath of God was satisfied. For every sin on Him was laid; here in the death of Christ I live.

There in the ground His body lay, Light of the world by darkness slain. Then, bursting forth in glorious day, up from the grave He rose again! And as He stands in victory sin’s curse has lost its grip on me. For I am His and He is mine, bought with the precious blood of Christ.

Chorus: On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand.

No guilt in life, no fear in death, this is the pow’r of Christ in me. From life’s first cry to final breath, Jesus commands my destiny. No pow’r of hell, no scheme of man can ever pluck me from His hand. ’Til He returns or calls me home, here in the pow’r of Christ I’ll stand! Chorus

Corporate Confession of Sin    Pastor Jeff Elliott

Our gracious Father, You sent Your Son to die and rise to new life in order that death might be brought to an end and that we too might live a new life. Yet, in our thoughts, words and deeds we have rebelled against You and Your intentions for us. In so doing, we have broken our fellowship with You Whose love is better than life and Whom to know is life itself. In so doing, we have hurt others, sometimes unintentionally and sometimes deliberately, and have diminished their lives, particularly by not pointing them to the life found in Your Son. Father, forgive us our sin for Jesus’ sake. And grant that Your resurrection power might fill our beings so that we walk in the ways of love and justice to the glory of Your holy name. Amen.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. The elements will be passed through the rows in the sanctuary and in the fellowship hall. We wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

When I Survey the Wondrous Cross (Hymn No. 252) (During Communion)

It Is Well with My Soul

When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, when sorrows like sea billows roll; whatever my lot, Thou hast taught me to say, “It is well, it is well with my soul.”

Chorus: It is well (it is well) with my soul (with my soul); it is well, it is well with my soul.

Though satan should buffet, though trials should come, let this blessed assurance control, that Christ has regarded my helpless estate, and has shed His own blood for my soul. Chorus

My sin, oh the bliss of this glorious thought! My sin, not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more, praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul! Chorus

O Lord haste the day when the faith shall be sight, the clouds be rolled back as a scroll; the trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend, even so, it is well with my soul. Chorus
