And Can It Be (Hymn No. 455)

And can it be that I should gain an interest in my Savior’s blood? Died He for me, who caused His pain? For me who Him to death pursued? Amazing love! How can it be, that Thou my God shouldst die for me?

Chorus: Amazing love! How can it be, that Thou my God shouldst die for me?

He left His Father’s throne above - so free, so infinite His grace - humbled Himself – so great His love - and bled for all His chosen race. ’Tis mercy all, immense and free; for, O my God, it found out me! (Chorus)

Long my imprisoned spirit lay, fast bound in sin and nature’s night; Thine eye diffused a quick’ning ray; I woke, the dungeon flamed with light; my chains fell off, my heart was free; I rose, went forth, and followed Thee. (Chorus)

No condemnation now I dread; Jesus, and all in Him, is mine! Alive in Him, my living Head, and clothed in righteousness divine, bold I approach th’ eternal throne, and claim the crown, through Christ my own. (Chorus)

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

Man of Sorrows

Man of sorrows, Lamb of God, by His own betrayed. The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid.

Silent as He stood accused, beaten, mocked, and scorned. Bowing to the Father’s will, He took a crown of thorns.

Chorus: Oh, that rugged cross, my salvation, where Your love poured out over me. Now my soul cries out, halleluiah, praise and honor unto Thee.

Sent of heaven, God’s own Son to purchase and redeem. And reconcile the very ones who nailed Him to that tree. Chorus

Now, my debt is paid, it is paid in full by the precious blood that my Jesus spilled. Now, the curse of sin has no hold on me. Whom the Son sets free, oh, is free indeed.

See the stone is rolled away, behold the empty tomb. Hallelujah, God be praised, He’s risen from the grave. Chorus

Days of Elijah

These are the days of Elijah, declaring the Word of the Lord; and these are the days of Your servant Moses, righteousness being restored; and though these are days of great trials, of famine and darkness and sword; still we are the voice in the desert crying, “Prepare ye the way of the Lord.”

Chorus: Behold He comes, riding on the clouds, shining like the sun at the trumpet call; lift your voice, it’s the year of Jubilee, and out of Zion’s hill salvation comes.

And these are the days of Ezekiel, the dry bones becoming as flesh; and these are the days of Your servant David rebuilding a temple of praise; and these are the days of the harvest, the fields are as white in the world; and we are the laborers in Your vineyard declaring the Word of the Lord.

Bridge: There is no god like Jehovah, there is no god like Jehovah; there is no god like Jehovah, there is no god like Jehovah.

Corporate Confession of Sin

Pastor Tim Dryden

Our heavenly Father, we come to You with hearts that have again gone astray. We have leaned on our own understanding rather than trusting You when Your ways are not our ways. We have set our judgments over Your Word, even subjecting it to our critiques. We have found our wills more trustworthy than Yours and in so doing, taken Your Name in vain. Please forgive us for our lack of faith and the lack of submission to Your Word and Your will that have flowed from it. Help us in our unbelief. Give us soft hearts that receive Your Word as the ground receives the rain. We confess these sins to You, trusting in Your provision of atonement in Your Son, our Savior, to cover us and reconcile us. Amen.

On the Road Again

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. The elements will be passed through the rows in the sanctuary and in the fellowship hall. We wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

How Deep the Father’s Love for Us (During Communion)

Christ Exalted Is Our Song

Christ exalted is our song, our anthem through eternity. Praises rise and wake the dawn, heralding His majesty. Christ without a rival reigns over all creation. Name above all other names, enthroned in adoration.

Christ exalted is our song, the Sovereign over everything. Left His glorious throne beyond, stepped into our suffering. The hands that shaped the heaven’s frame reached to heal the leper. Mighty God in meekness came to lead us like a Shepherd.

Christ exalted is our song, the Man of Sorrows mocked and tried. Bore the judgment for our wrongs, for our sins was crucified. Hear the love in His refrain, “Father, please forgive them.” As He bears the bitter weight of guilt and condemnation.

Christ exalted is our song, buried but in vict’ry raised. The keys of death and life belong to the Firstborn from the grave. Glory, glory to the King! Crowned with countless praises. Christ exalted we will sing throughout unending ages!
