NCPC Sunday Morning Worship Service

October 17, 2021

Forever

Give thanks to the Lord, our God and King; His love endures forever. For He is good, He is above all things; His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise.

With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm; His love endures forever. For the life that's been reborn; His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise.

Chorus: Forever God is faithful, forever God is strong, forever God is with us, forever, forever.

From the rising to the setting sun His love endures forever. And by the grace of God we will carry on; His love endures forever. Sing praise, sing praise. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

How Firm a Foundation

How firm a foundation, you saints of the Lord, is laid for your faith in His excellent Word! What more can He say than to you He has said, to you who for refuge to Jesus have fled?

“Fear not, I am with you, O be not dismayed; for I am your God, and will still give you aid; I’ll strengthen you, help you, and cause you to stand, upheld by My righteous, omnipotent hand.”

“When through the deep waters I call you to go, the rivers of sorrow shall not overflow; for I will be with you, your troubles to bless, and sanctify to you your deepest distress.”

“When through fiery trials your pathway shall lie, My grace, all sufficient, shall be your supply; the flame shall not hurt you; I only design your dross to consume, and your gold to refine.”

“The soul that on Jesus has leaned for repose, I will not, I will not desert to His foes; that soul, though all hell should endeavor to shake, I’ll never, no never, no never forsake.”

Words and music by Joseph Funk, Bruce Greer, and John Rippon; 1997, Van Ness Press, Inc.; CCLI License # 387777

From the Depths of Woe (Psalm 130)

From the depths of woe I raise to Thee the voice of lamentation; Lord, turn a gracious ear to me and hear my supplication: if Thou iniquities dost mark, our secret sins and misdeeds dark, O who shall stand before Thee?

Therefore my trust is in the Lord, and not in mine own merit; on Him my soul shall rest, His Word upholds my fainting spirit. His promised mercy is my fort, my comfort, and my sweet support; I wait for it with patience.

What though I wait the livelong night, and till the dawn appeareth, my heart still trusteth in His might; it doubteth not nor feareth. Do thus, O ye of Israel’s seed, ye of the Spirit born indeed; and wait till God appeareth.

Though great our sins and sore our woes, His grace much more aboundeth; His helping love no limit knows, our utmost need it soundeth. Our Shepherd good and true is He, who will at last His Israel free from all their sin and sorrow.

Corporate Confession of Sin

Pastor Tim Dryden

Our Holy God, we come to You this morning as sinners in Your sight. We have rebelliously chosen our own way and neglected You and Your ways. We have trusted ourselves and our plans and our desires, ignoring Your will revealed in love and perfection. We ask for Your forgiveness. We ask You to wash us clean. Please remold our hearts today to see You, follow You, live for You because we love You. Receive our cold hearts and wayward steps, remaking them as You conform us to the image of Your Son. Thank You for Your rich promises of redemption, forgiveness and reconciliation. Have Your way with us, we pray in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Morning Prayer

Take My Life, and Let It Be (Hymn No. 585) (** You Can Give by Text: Text "Give" to 757-500-8680. **)

Take my life and let it be consecrated, Lord, to Thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise, let them flow in ceaseless praise.

Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of Thy love. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for Thee, swift and beautiful for Thee.

Take my voice and let me sing always, only, for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee, filled with messages from Thee.

Take my silver and my gold; not a mite would I withhold. Take my intellect and use ev’ry pow’r as Thou shalt choose, ev’ry pow’r as Thou shalt choose.

So take my heart, and form it. Take my mind, transform it. Take my will, conform it to Yours, to Yours, oh Lord.
