Jesus, My Only Hope

I come into Your presence with nothing in my hands. I only bring thanksgiving for Jesus – God and Man. I cast myself on mercy, I cast myself on love. I trust Your gracious promise to wash me with Your blood.

I will not fear Your judgment. For me, no wrath I dread. For it was spent on Jesus, poured out upon His head. When Satan’s accusations make my poor heart afraid, I hear my King declaring, “Father, that debt is paid.”

Chorus: Jesus, my only hope, my only plea. My righteousness, my Great High Priest, Who intercedes for me before the throne. Jesus, I trust in You alone.

Though I am poor and naked, Your prodigal come home, You place Your robe upon me, Your holiness alone. Though I be dry and barren, by grace this love springs forth: love for You and Your kingdom, joy in Your glory, Lord. Chorus

Call to Worship/Prayer of Invocation

I Will Wait for You (Psalm 130)

Out of the depths I cry to You, in darkest places I will call. Incline Your ear to me anew, and hear my cry for mercy, Lord.

Were You to count my sinful ways, how could I come before Your throne? Yet full forgiveness meets my gaze, I stand redeemed by grace alone.

Chorus: I will wait for You, I will wait for You, on Your word I will rely. I will wait for You, surely wait for You, till my soul is satisfied.

So, put Your hope in God alone, take courage in His power to save, completely and forever won by Christ emerging from the grave.

His steadfast love has made a way, and God Himself has paid the price, that all who trust in Him today find healing in His sacrifice. Chorus

I will wait for You, I will wait for You, through the storm and through the night. I will wait for You, surely wait for You, for Your love is my delight.

I Will Glory in My Redeemer

I will glory in my Redeemer Whose priceless blood has ransomed me. Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails; and hung Him on that judgment tree. I will glory in my Redeemer Who crushed the power of sin and death; my only Savior before the holy Judge; the Lamb Who is my righteousness, the Lamb Who is my righteousness.

I will glory in my Redeemer; my life He bought, my love He owns. I have no longings for another; I’m satisfied in Him alone. I will glory in my Redeemer, His faithfulness my standing place; though foes are mighty and rush upon me; my feet are firm, held by His grace, my feet are firm, held by His grace.

I will glory in my Redeemer Who carries me on eagle’s wings. He crowns my life with lovingkindness; His triumph song I’ll ever sing. I will glory in my Redeemer Who waits for me at gates of gold; and when He calls me it will be paradise; His face forever to behold, His face forever to behold.

Corporate Confession of Sin

Blair Allen, Ruling Elder

Our God and King, we come before You this morning humbly acknowledging our unworthiness to be in Your holy presence as unholy sinners. Although you have cleansed us from the stain of our previous sin, we have again this week spoken, thought, and acted according to our own desires and with disregard for You and Your ways. We ask Your forgiveness for our hard-headed persistence in self-regard instead of honoring You. Please make us new. Fill us with Your Spirit of holiness. Melt our pride and drain our self-love. Engage us in the joy of our salvation. Please continue Your promised work of conforming us to the image of Your Son, in whose name we pray. Amen

Morning Prayer

(Dismissal for Children’s Worship for Age 4 through Kindergarten.)

Yet Not I, But Through Christ in Me (** You Can Give by Text: Text "Give" to 757-500-8680. **)

What gift of grace is Jesus, my Redeemer. There is no more for heaven now to give. He is my joy, my righteousness and freedom, my steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace. To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus. For my life is wholly bound to His. Oh, how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine! Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

The night is dark, but I am not forsaken, for by my side the Savior, He will stay. I labor on in weakness and rejoicing, for in my need, His power is displayed. To this I hold: my Shepherd will defend me. Through the deepest valley He will lead. Oh, the night has been won, and I shall overcome! Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven, the future sure, the price, it has been paid. For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon, and He was raised to overthrow the grave. To this I hold: my sin has been defeated. Jesus now, and ever, is my plea. Oh, the chains are released, I can sing: I am free! Yet not I, but through Christ in me.

With every breath I long to follow Jesus, for He has said that He will bring me home. And day by day I know He will renew me until I stand with joy before the throne. To this I hold: my hope is only Jesus. All the glory evermore to Him. When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat: yet not I, but through Christ in me.

Celebration of the Lord’s Supper

New Covenant welcomes all baptized Christians who have forsaken their sin and trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, and who are members of congregations that proclaim the Gospel, to receive the Lord’s Supper with us. Individuals pick up their elements from the tables in the sanctuary or in the fellowship hall and wait to eat together as a family meal. Gluten free bread is provided.

O Fount of Love (During Communion)

Come, Ye Sinners

Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched, weak and wounded, sick and sore; Jesus, ready, stands to save you, full of pity, joined with power. He is able, He is able, He is willing; doubt no more.

Come, ye needy, come and welcome, God’s free bounty glorify; true belief and true repentance, every grace that brings you nigh. Without money, without money, come to Jesus Christ and buy.

Come, ye weary, heavy laden, bruised and broken by the fall; if you tarry ’til you’re better, you will never come at all. Not the righteous, not the righteous; sinners Jesus came to call.

Lo! the Incarnate God, ascended; pleads the merit of His blood. Venture on Him; venture wholly, let no other trust intrude. None but Jesus, none but Jesus can do helpless sinners good.
