Paul’s letters to the Thessalonians tend to be ignored in Bible studies because they are short on great theological passages. Instead, they include a good deal of commonsense advice along with encouragement and clarification about the return of Christ. They also shed light on conditions in one of the earliest Christian congregations and provide a picture of what a healthy church should look like. How can we make an impact on our neighborhood, and how should we live as individuals and a church in times of crisis? These are some of the issues Paul addresses in these very personal, pastoral letters.
